The World Flying Disc Federation announced on Thursday, May 4th that Mundaring Sporting Club will host the 2024 WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championship. The event will run from Wednesday 6th November through Saturday 9th November, 2024.
WTDGC is WFDF’s premier disc golf event and sees teams of up to 12 playing disc golf for their country in team and individual match play formats. WTDGC 2024 will be the fifth iteration of the biannual championship, with the first event held in Vancouver, Canada in 2016 with 6 countries taking part, and the most recent event in Croatia last year with 25 national teams.
Mundaring Sporting Club Disc Golf committee members Ken and Sue Summers, who competed at the 2021 and 2022 WTDGC events, will run the 2024 championship, which they hope will bring over 300 international competitors to Mundaring. Mundaring Disc Golf President Ken Summers said “We are very excited to have the opportunity to host the very first WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championship held in the southern hemisphere. We look forward to working alongside WFDF and the Australian disc golf community to deliver a quality event, and to share our course, and Mundaring, with the world.”
